Brian Hogan is an author, editor, web developer, and trainer who enjoys teaching and learning about web development. He has 15 years of application development experience and is the author of “HTML5 and CSS3” and “Web Design For Developers. He is the creator and maintainer of the RailsMentors project and is an advocate for accessibility for the disabled. He is currently a Development Editor for the Pragmatic Bookshelf.


Jerry Cheung (Intridea)

Jerry loves creating software. He started experimenting with Ruby on Rails in 2007 and got hooked on it after creating several personal projects. Upon graduating from Berkeley, he joined Coupa and later went on to start his own company Outspokes with several friends from Berkley. When he’s not furiously typing, Jerry might be out running, brewing beer, or enjoying a BBQ and getting a serious sunburn.


Christopher Lin (CompassLabs)

Christopher Lin is a user interaction and algorithms engineer at Compass Labs in San Jose, CA. He previously studied at Stanford University, where he earned a B.S. in Symbolic Systems with a focus in Human-Computer Interaction and and M.S. in Computer Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence. This one time, he ate a guinea pig. True story.


Ananth Ramakrishnan (CompassLabs)

Ananth is a programmer at Compass Labs in San Jose, CA working on their ad-serving platform. He has a Masters degree in Computation Linguistics and did his research on Automatic Lyric Generation systems. The research made him lose the ability to enjoy a song as he starts analyzing its details.


Mohammed Abidi (CompassLabs)

Mohammad is a developer at Compass Labs in San Jose, CA, working on their core web services and ad-serving platform. He was previously at Oracle, Sybase and more recently at an automotive not-for-profit where he once developed a quick proof of concept by combining several railscasts. This experience has made him an advocate of using Rails at Compass Labs. He almost scored the best goal of his life in a pickup soccer game this weekend!!
