2010 Rails Rumble Organizers
Here are the fine folks who volunteer their time toward planning, building, and running the contest:

Nick Plante (nap@railsrumble.com)
Nick Plante is an independent consultant currently working on a stealthy new web service (no, seriously!). He’s been a Rumble organizer since 2007, after being inspired by the 48 Hour Film Project, a lack of sleep, and excess caffeine. Nick lives in Portsmouth, NH and contributes to several open source projects, including the rdoc.info online Ruby doc service. He’s also co-author of Practical Rails Plugins, writes for DDJ, and has spoken at a number of software industry events. Nick likes bad sci-fi films, good music, and shiny things.

Darcy Laycock (sutto@railsrumble.com)
Darcy Laycock is a 19 year old student from Perth, Western Australia currently working towards his Bachelor of Computer Science at the University of Western Australia. Since having started with Ruby in 2006, he’s created and contributed to several ruby-related open source projects, his own including a series of evented twitter and irc clients and miscellaneous web development related tools. Darcy’s been an organizer since the second Rumble.

Jeff Rafter (jeff@railsrumble.com)
Author of four books on Web Standards, XML, and Ruby on Rails, including the best selling BEGINNING XML used in Universities — from USC to MIT. Winner of the Yahoo Green Award for Mobile and the French American Charitable Trust (FACT) Social Justice Award for technology. Jeff is a veteran organizer for the Rails Rumble and is currently working in Santa Monica on PROJECT X.

Kevin W. Gisi (gisikw@railsrumble.com)
Kevin W. Gisi is a developer from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where he works remotely as an engineer for Intridea. Kevin is the co-founder of the Eau Claire Ruby User Group, and an active evangelist for open-source software and community involvement. He has spoken at numerous conferences across the Midwest, and is proud to have joined the Rumble team last year.

Brian Turnbull (bturnbull@railsrumble.com)
Brian Turnbull is a software engineer working remotely for ARRIS Solutions. A Ruby enthusiast and creative hanger-on, he is co-organizer of NHRuby, producer of fine films and music, involved in more projects than he should be, but still excited to be part of the Rumble for a third year running. He lives with his wife and two daughters in the seacoast region of New Hampshire.
